Moonlight

Halfway through Moonlight. I actually think that this piece has helped me learn the sheet music more than Fur Elise because there are so many flats in it. I am having a little trouble on the left hand though, when it get to the part where you have to hit the two f's and a's at the same time. I wich my hands were a little bigger. Oh well, practice makes perfect.

Success!

I now know all of Fur Elise. I'm so proud of me! Just have to work on playing it smoothly.

Practice

Just been practicing what I know of Fur Elise so far. Trying to get it to sound as smooth as possible. Gonna work on the next section tonight.

Fur Elise

Working on the second half of Fur Elise. It's hard because sometimes the left and right hands are played together and then sometimes they alternate and they go back and forth between the two ver quickly. The timing is very hard, especially since my left hand is slower than my right. So the result is I know both hands up to a certain point, and then I only know the right and I'm slowly introducing the left hand.

Slow Progress

Started playing Cockles and Mussles, a sing I've never heard before. I'm really proud of myself because I can play the right hand without looking down at the keyboard. I've pretty much memorized all the notes for the right hand. I've about halfway memorized the left hand. I find that I know the notes that I'm supposed to hit with my left hand but its harder for me to move my fingers smoothly. I guess this is because I'm right handed.

Happy Birthday

Worked on Happy Birthday this week. Trying real hard to look at the sheet music and play note by note. I hate it though because it's harder, I can play it better just by memorizing which key to hit versus actually knowing which key I'm playing. But I guess that's not really learning.

Jingle Bells

Working on learning jingle bells. Got the right hand down, and the left, playing them both at the same time has proved to be a challenge.
